The Queens Gambit

I have been on a long hiatus, all thanks to COVID. After several months of FLAT entertainment, I have recently come across a few worthy to review about. New to NETFLIX is a show called THE QUEENS GAMBIT, new limited series.

THE QUEENS GAMBIT – The show is about a young orphaned girl, who develops an addiction to chess. Beth Harmon, quiet and bad tempered becomes obsessed with chess after secretly playing her first game with the janitor at the orphanage. As time passes Beth starts competing and her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time she feels in control. But it isn’t easy for her, there is ALOT more to her story. So I will end my review here and hope you check it out your self and see what I mean. After a long time, I have seen a good show, that has a good story, great acting, its dramatic, dark humor and overall worth a watch. Only draw back is that HAIR of her’s, so awful, makes her look a bit creepy. Im glad its gets better later in the show but I guess thats her character LOL….

MONEY HEIST

This show has been on my watchlist for the longest time, and I finally got a chance to start watching it. All thanks to this QUARANTINE, I’am almost done with my pending shows lol. Check it out now on Netflix (please note this show is dubbed in english.)

THE GREATEST HEIST

MONEY HEIST – A criminal mastermind goes by PROFESSOR, plans the biggest HEIST with a group of people, each one is unique. Together they take over the ROYAL MINT of SPAIN. This is where I stop, don’t want to give all of it away. It is filled with twists, dramatic, and keeps the viewer connected. 2ThumbsUP review pending, until completed.

 

THE ACT

What if you found out, someone you have been helping financially or emotionally has been LYING to you all these years. Using the SICKNESS card and getting everything for FREE. To top it of, using a CHILD for the sickness. Yes guys this is ACTUALLY true and its sickening. Hulu original THE ACT based on true events.

DEE DEE the LIAR

THE ACT – Congrats to Dee Dee (Patricia Arquette)  for her Supporting Actress Emmy. Brilliant performance by her and well deserved award. As super obsessed mother of a teen, who claims that her daughter Gypsy Rose (Joey King) is really SICK and uses her to live for FREE. The thought of using your CHILD to make a living is just CRAZY. I don’t want to share much about this, because it’s something you have to see yourself to understand what I mean. Great performances, brilliant story, emotional, dramatic overall a awesome show. 2ThumbsUP gives this show a 5/5.

TALL GIRL

Why Me?

TALL GIRL – A high school girl Jodi, doesn’t have an easy high school life. She is slightly TALLER then normal and therefore is judged by everyone. Along comes a HANDSOME exchange student Stig, who she FALLS for and tries to fight her insecurities and hope’s he notices her. Little did Jodi know, Stig is kind of a D*** himself. Jodi struggles to fight for being normal like everyone else, while trying to impress Stig. Oh the struggle is REAL in Jodi’s life. Descent story, a life lesson about never give up on yourself, comedy, and ofcourse a chick flick. 2ThumbsUP gives this movie a 3/5.

 

THE BOYS

Superhero – what does it actually mean? care to explain in your own words, and not use what our dictionary states LOL. When you think of superheroes, you automatically think of someone GOOD who ends up saving the world. Well this new show on Prime Video.

THE BOYS – is of course about superheroes but with a twist. The review is still pending from 2ThumbsUP, so don’t forget to check back soon for that. So far, it looks very promising, intense graphic scenes (maybe me sensitive for you WEEKLINGS who can’t handle blood and gore!) Let’s see what happens, until next time.

BIG LITTLE LIES

How many of you remember Pretty Little Liars? You know the show where 5 best friends, commit a CRIME and then start covering up about it. The whole SHOW ends up in being nothing but lies! Well there is a show based on the same concept but with an AMAZING cast as well. Check out BIG LITTLE LIES  2 seasons, on HBO.

SHHHH

BIG LITTLE LIES – The Monterey 5, I won’t tell you what this means LOL.. As I mentioned before, this show is somewhat similar to Pretty Little Liars, but much better and interesting. The amazing cast Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz, Laura Dern, oh can’t forget the great Meryl Streep (season two.) The rich and snotty Monterey ladies, enjoying their LAVISH lives. Until something happens, and their world is turned upside down. Now now,  I’m not gonna be that nice and give you some SPOILERS, you will just have to find out your self. The show is full of drama, romance, emotions and of course the LIES! Overall, a great watch, love the soundtrack and 2ThumbsUP gives this show a 4/5.

BLACK MIRROR

Netflix, is known for its ORIGINAL shows. Those that are good, you have to wait almost 1 year for the new season. They already kill us with the wait time, but what sucks is when you wait for new season and it turns out to be Shi**ty. Patiently waiting for Season 5 of Black Mirror, just 3 episodes and ALL were disappointing.

 

HORRIBLE

BLACK MIRROR – Not all seasons were great, but they at least had few WORTHY episodes and I loved the use of TECHNOLOGY being used very smartly. Season 5, with only 3 episodes. All horrible, first one was like watching a PORNO, second was so not worth even making it and last, only decent thing about it was Miley Cyrus’s acting in some scenes. All episodes, felt they were rushed and stories lagged substance. 2ThumbsUP gives this season 5 2/5.

 

Dead To Me

I love psychological and suspense genres, they are so exciting and always make you wonder what’s going to happen next. If the story is GOOD, it keeps you engaged. Streaming now on Netflix DEAD TO ME, is one to watch.

 

BESTIES 

DEAD TO ME – Christina Applegate as Jen and Linda Cardellini as Judy, give a great performance in this Dark Comedy. Jen’s husband dies in a car accident, and she is going out of her way to find the KILLER. During a support group meeting, Jen meets Judy and the DRAMA start’s. They soon become really good friends and Judy moves in. The ENDING, OMG!!! I don’t want to give away too much, so I won’t say more. Great story, dramatic, dark comedy, suspense, and great casting. 2ThumbsUP gives this show a 4/5.

 

 

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile- Ted Bundy

I never knew much about Ted Bundy, until I watched this biopic on Netflix. Ignoring the handsomeness, he was a total PSYCHO… He used his charm and looks to trap girls and then brutally murder them. Then to totally DENY and state he was INNOCENT, hello are you CRAZY….

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile– Ted Bundy – Zac Efron, portrayed the character really well, and looked so much like him. Obviously, this was a biopic, but they had to show a story. So it’s the great love triangle, which leads the serial killings, without the girlfriend finding out. He uses the poor girl, and leads her to believe he is COMPLETELY innocent. His charm and good looks, fooled a lot of people and he just kept killing. Great performances, good story, dramatic, suspense and keeps you thinking. 2ThumbsUP gives this movie 4.5/5.

 

Made in HEAVEN

I don’t watch many shows or movies on PRIME VIDEO, only because of the available selections. But once in a while they introduce some watch worthy stuff. I also don’t watch many INDIAN shows or movies LOL…. My sister, had been bugging to me to watch this show. So I checked it out with her and it ended up being a decent show. Season 1 now on PRIME VIDEO! It’s not all in HINDI, there’s a lot of ENGLISH and of course you have the sub-titles.

Don’t They Look HAPPY

Made In HEAVEN – The show is based on lavish INDIAN weddings and culture. A wedding planner company- Made In Heaven. They work with upper class families, deal with their snottiness, drama between the bride and grooms parent’s and all other INDIAN wedding trimmings. That’s not all, the Planners- Tara- married to a RICH punjabi and Karan- who is gay but has not come out to his family and keeps it kinda low key. They have drama in their lives, and deal with that along with the whole WEDDING PLANNING business. So basically, there is DRAMA all the time, and they also show how the INDIAN culture does not accept certain things. I don’t want to spoil everything for you, so this is were I stop and let you figure that part out LOL… Overall, for the first season the show is interesting, dramatic, funny, good casting and keeps you entertained. 2ThumbsUP gives this show 3/5.
