The Twlight Zone

Don’t let the current situation ruin your entertainment, you can still ENJOY during this SOCIAL DISTANCE lockdown (the hardest thing to do in today’s world.) You can atleast watch movies and shows (thank god to the internet and TV the greatest inventions ever.) Now, who remembers the classic The Twilight Zone?? Well today, my brother asks me to watch it and I was like the “OLD ONE?” Being a big movie and show buff, I totally forgot. Last year, the new version was released on CBS hosted by our very own Jordan Peele. FYI, I will be posting more suggestions, and do my small part to keep you entertained 🙂

The Twilight Zone – each episode is different and shares stories of science fiction and fantasy.  Exploring humanity’s hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in metaphoric ways. I can’t say much about it yet, as I have only watched 1 episode. So far, it did not disappoint, so let’s see what happens. 2ThumbsUP review pending.

THIS IS US (NBC) – OMG, this SHOW is nothing but EMOTIONAL DRAMA. Every episode, brings tears (according the people I have talk to.) Can’t get enough of JACK, soo happy it’s back after all that waiting around.

The Power of GOD

GOD FRIENDED ME (CBS) – Those of you who remember watching Bruce Almighty with Jim Carrey, where he gets fed up of his life and asks GODS help. He is given that opportunity and takes GOD’s powers. Well this show seems similar, except- Miles Finer is an atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from God. He becomes an agent and changes lives of people around him. Good luck filling Jim Carreys shoes!!!

SINGLE PARENTS (ABC) – All you single parents out there, hope this show HELPS with some tips and tricks to raise your KIDDOS…  Single parents lean on each other to help raise their 7-year-old kids and maintain some kind of personal lives outside of parenthood.

Drop Dead Diva

There are so many shows these days, it’s hard to keep track of them. You can only watch so many, and it doesn’t help when new ones keep coming up. I happened to just ask my niece, if she seen any GOOD movie or show recently and she suggested DROP DEAD DIVA. Lifetime channel, and NETFLIX with 6 seasons available.

SWITCH

DROP DEAD DIVA – Deb, a 24 yr. old young blonde wannabe model, dies in a car accident. Her soul enters in Jane an attorney, who happens to be on the heavier side. She is SMART at what she does and everyone likes her. In short, Jane is the opposite of Deb. Deb must now inhabit Jane’s body and live her life. The struggle between brains and beauty people. Can you imagine being trapped in another persons body, and then having to LIVE their life and not being able to speak of WHO you really are. 2ThumbsUP gives this show 4/5.

Cloak & Dagger

Just when you think Marvel is done, they yet again introduce a new show on FREEFORM- CLOAK AND DAGGER. Premiered June 7th.

The Handmaid’s Tale

Women today are stronger and competitive in everything they do but can you imagine a place where they are treated like CRAP. Their only existence is to serve the MAN and be a bloody house wife. Now let’s get to the point, I was a bit skeptical in watching Hulu’s show THE HANDMAID’S TALE. I didn’t like the concept and found it dull, but after hearing about from friends and family I decided to give it another try. At first, the show seems like it’s 50 Shade’s of Grey because theres nothing but SEX, but after few episodes it picks up and is really GOOD.

HANG EM ALL

THE HANDMAID’S TALE –  Set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. A regime that treats women as property of the state.  Few fertile women become Handmaid’s and are forced into sexual servitude. Having no choice or control, their Commander forces himself upon them, in hopes to get pregnant, while the wife sits in on this ridiculous ritual and holds the Handmaid’s hand, while the husband does his thing. Things change when one of these women, Offred, is determined to survive and find her daughter who was taken away. Great acting, good story, lot’s of disturbing scenes (the way women are treated.) If this got you intrigued, check it out your self. No WOMEN should be treated like this, specially in the world we live in NOW. 2ThumbsUP gives this show 4/5.

This Is Us- Super Bowl episode!

It’s very rare, I cry or even express some emotions during a show or movie LOL… But man, this last episode of This Is Us, pushed the limits and I finally shed a few tears! So you know what that means right, YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT. If it made me get a little teary, well sorry to say GOODLUCK for those who are EMOTIONALLY sensitive. The episode finally ANSWERS what happens to Jack Pearson and ladies get your tissues ready!

Now, those of you who have not seen or know what this AMAZING show is about, well here is a quick sum up. It’s about a married couple, who have triplets. Their lives change once the children are born. Basically the show revolves around the 3 children- their lives and all the normal family drama. Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia are the PERFECT Mr. and Mrs. Pearson. A heart warming, emotional DRAMA and funny thats a MUST watch.. 2ThumbsUP gives this show 5/5.

In the recent years, DC and Marvel have introduced superheroes that aren’t as popular as your typical- Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Hulk etc. Not all have been a success but it’s a start. TV shows like Gotham- life of Batman and how it all started, The Flash- Barry Allen, the SPEEDY kid, Arrow- Oliver Queen returns home and fights to keep his city SAFE and never misses his target.

Now a new guy is in town Black Lightening- premiered on CW on Jan 16th, a Father of two is forced to become the man behind Lightening suit. To protect his home town, his family. Can this new superhero make its spot in the list of SUPERHEROES, guess we will have to find out this season.  This show have not been rated by 2ThumbsUp.

Have you ever wondered what’s it like for the people who are behind your 9-1-1 distress calls. Aren’t you curious, what must they feel or go through while taking that CALL. Let’s break this down for you. We have Dispatch- one who answers the call, they have no idea what the call is about, yet they are still so focused and swift with responses to help you get through or at-least try to keep you calm during your distress call. Firefighters and Cops, who risk their lives every day and face life threatening situations to save you or your loved ones.

Ok I wont lecture you anymore on this HAHA, I just wanted to make a small point about how important these people are. Now coming to the point, there is a new show on FOX  9-1-1, premiered Jan 3. It’s only on 3rd episode this week, but looks pretty promising so far. It’s solely based on 9-1-1 calls and the people behind that call. You would think, its just their job. WRONG, there is more to it then that!! Sorry, this is where I leave you hanging you must watch it yourself to understand what I mean. 2ThumbsUp gives this show 3/5 for now.

The Good Doctor– ABC, I love shows that deal with rescue missions, emergencies, etc.. Its first season is so far going strong. An autistic surgeon, Dr. Shaun Murphy, gets the opportunity to put his practice to use in San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital with the help of his mentor, Dr. Aaron Glassman. 2ThumbsUp gives this show 3.5/5 

SEASON RENEWALS

This is Us- NBC, I was so hesitant to watch this only because I don’t like serious shows. I guess that’s why we have reviews! After being told by several of my friends that this show is GOOD, I got suckered into it, and I must say I LOVE IT….. Season one, a story of a typical husband and wife, being first time parents, have triplets, (losing the 3rd child during birth they adopt an African-American baby.) Their lives now revolve around these 3 kids and are a faced with challenge after challenge. Season 2, gets even better, but I won’t spoil it for you. I’ll let you see it yourself! 2ThumbsUp gives this show 4/5 

Riverdale– The CW, Ok ladies, this is a typical CHICK FLICK show. Just in its second season, this show is doing well so far. It is based around a group of four high school friends named Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Jughead Jones. Their lives are turned upside down when they find out about the school Jock, Jason Blossom, has been murdered. Sorry guys, thats all you’re gonna get from me! 2ThumbsUp gives this show 3.5/5 

Jane the Virgin- CW, Ok so when I saw the previews of this show, I was so hesitant to watch it. The storyline looked weird, and I wasn’t feeling the vibe. Yes I gave in and decided to give it a shot. Holding strong and in its 4th season, it is a MUST watch. A Total entertainment and loaded with comedy. Jane the Virgin- well, Jane Villanueva, the daughter of a teen mother, determined to become a teacher. Unfortunately, a routine visit to the clinic turns her life upside down and she becomes pregnant… Well I won’t tell you the rest, if I got your attention you need to watch and find out! 2ThumbsUp gives this show 4/5 

The Good Place- NBC, season one, starts off by a women named Eleanor Shellstrop. As she wakes up, she finds herself in the afterlife, being relieved and surprised that she’s made it into HEAVEN aka The Good Place. Michael (the man behind The Good Place) begins to ask her questions, and she begins to realize she’s there by mistake. Eleanor soon learns to settle in and make friends with her seemingly perfect neighbors Tahani, Jianyu, and her so called soul mate, Chidi. Season 2, soon after Eleanor and her neighbors realize they are being lied to, Michael resets their lives and the cycle begins all over, but Eleanor leaves hints behind to help them remember… 2ThumbsUp gives this show 3/5
