Just when I thought 2020 (start to a new decade) would bring great things. I never imagined, we would be in a situation where the whole WORLD is FIGHTING for SURVIVAL. This is honestly a REAL movie scene situation, where we are actually dealing with a VIRUS (what we see in movies) (COVID-19) that has created HAVOC for everyone. It has sickened and taken many lives. Everyone do what you can, and take part. Don’t let this COVID-19 bring us to an end. 2ThumbsUP, would like take this moment and THANK all our DOCTORS, ARMED FORCES, SCIENTISTS and all other healthcare providers. You are the TRUE HEROES for everyone right now. A small request, if you can spare 1 minute of your time, for silence and remember the ones we have lost.

JOKER

Ok Guys, so just watched this movie last night and I must say JOAQUIN PHOENIX, wins my respect for playing this role. Up until now, I did not think ANYONE can beat HEATH LEDGER‘s performance, but I was wrong. Our newest JOKER, in my eyes was as GOOD as HEATH in The Dark Night. So please don’t hold back and go watch it, so you know what I mean.

AMAZING

JOKER – JOAQUIN PHOENIX, was pure BRILLIANCE in this movie. His performance, brought the movie to LIFE. A story about a man, who just wants to entertain everyone as a clown but certain circumstances make him divert and go sadistic. The situations around him and being picked on, force his DARK SIDE to come out. I don’t want to give you too much information, so this is where I stop. Overall the movie was AMAZING, his performance was Par-Excellence. Yes this movie is DARK, but it’s ALL part of entertainment and performance. So don’t be judgemental LOL and just go watch it!! 2ThumbsUP gives this movie 5/5.

THE BOYS

Superhero – what does it actually mean? care to explain in your own words, and not use what our dictionary states LOL. When you think of superheroes, you automatically think of someone GOOD who ends up saving the world. Well this new show on Prime Video.

THE BOYS – is of course about superheroes but with a twist. The review is still pending from 2ThumbsUP, so don’t forget to check back soon for that. So far, it looks very promising, intense graphic scenes (maybe me sensitive for you WEEKLINGS who can’t handle blood and gore!) Let’s see what happens, until next time.

THE LION KING

Took a small break from blogging, but back at it again. Thought this would be the best one to start with, I know it’s a little late on the review but still. It’s very difficult to compare ANIMATION with REAL life. As many of the viewers complained, the new version of THE LION KING failed to emote the same emotions as the animation for many. But common guys, the movie was still TRUE to the original, majority of the voices were perfect fit to the characters and the songs. Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase, listening to this again brought back memories for sure. Sorry there is no synopsis for this movie, because it’s a CLASSIC that EVERYONE must have seen, at least that’s the assumption HAHA.  2ThumbsUP gives this movie 4.5/5.

The Circle of Life

Aladdin

Disney classics are very hard to compete with, specially when they are recreated into REAL LIFE… Not ALL animated movie remakes are the greatest, or have that nostalgic feel.. That being said, when I first saw the ALADDIN trailer I was a bit worried. The BLUE Will Smith kinda threw me off LOL..

MAGICAL

ALADDIN – Prince Ali  (Mena Massoud) of Ababwa you were a PERFECT pick for the role and HANDSOME, If I may add. Jasmine (Naomi Scott) great voice and as pretty at the animated version. Genie (Will Smith) you proved me wrong, and played the role very well. Robin Williams will ALWAYS be the GENIE but you did justice to his role. Now I know many of you may not agree with me on this and it’s OK. This is just my personal experience and I cannot LIE about that LOL… Ok now coming to the actual movie- it was a great homage to the ORIGINAL, the songs, the story, it was funny, emotional and it sure took me back to the animated version and appreciate it much more. Loved the cinematography, the vibrant colors, music and performances. Hey GUYS, this is a MUSICAL. So if your wife, girlfriend, sister or even mother want you to watch it with them just GO and ENJOY it. Ignore the musical part and appreciate the GREATNESS hahaha.

Avengers-Endgame

Ok Guys, I know many of you fans have seen the movie and are probably lost of words.. Marvel, you are BRILLIANT!!! As soon as they announced this movie was happening, I was just counting the days. Sadly, I had to wait 2 extra days to watch it, thanks to the CRASH of AMC site when they released the pre-sale tickets. I ignored all comments and refused to look at social media for all possible spoilers.

Ultimate Battle

Avengers: Endgame – Just when you thought Infinity Wars left us speechless, Endgame pushes that further and you want MORE… Every minute of the 3 hour long movie was a MASTERPIECE. The dilemma of the vanished superheroes, how to defeat thanos and save the world. All this is answered amazingly, while keeping the great comedic scenes, action packed and emotions. I refuse to discuss the story, because it won’t do justice to the movie and you MUST go see it. I can go on and on but I know I have to stop here because I don’t want you to think I’m CRAZY… 2ThumbsUP gives this movie 5/5.

 

Made in HEAVEN

I don’t watch many shows or movies on PRIME VIDEO, only because of the available selections. But once in a while they introduce some watch worthy stuff. I also don’t watch many INDIAN shows or movies LOL…. My sister, had been bugging to me to watch this show. So I checked it out with her and it ended up being a decent show. Season 1 now on PRIME VIDEO! It’s not all in HINDI, there’s a lot of ENGLISH and of course you have the sub-titles.

Don’t They Look HAPPY

Made In HEAVEN – The show is based on lavish INDIAN weddings and culture. A wedding planner company- Made In Heaven. They work with upper class families, deal with their snottiness, drama between the bride and grooms parent’s and all other INDIAN wedding trimmings. That’s not all, the Planners- Tara- married to a RICH punjabi and Karan- who is gay but has not come out to his family and keeps it kinda low key. They have drama in their lives, and deal with that along with the whole WEDDING PLANNING business. So basically, there is DRAMA all the time, and they also show how the INDIAN culture does not accept certain things. I don’t want to spoil everything for you, so this is were I stop and let you figure that part out LOL… Overall, for the first season the show is interesting, dramatic, funny, good casting and keeps you entertained. 2ThumbsUP gives this show 3/5.

US

After the success of Jordan Peele’s GET OUT two years ago. I got super excited about US after seeing the trailers. GET OUT was soo good and fresh, so I assumed the same for US but needless to say it was pretty disappointing in my opinion.

CONFUSED

GET OUT – I hate when trailers are so deceiving, they show the BEST parts and trap the audiences LOL…. As they did with this one, I went in with HIGH expectations. Darn the movie, was such a let down. It started of GOOD. After 30 mins into it, I lost interest and started to say WTF is going on!! There were too many things happening, some scenes leave you wondering WHAT was Jordan thinking when he made this movie. A family goes on a vacation, where they are haunted by their EVIL version. They are terrified and try escape. They show up at their friends house, where they deal with their EVIL version. So now there’s MORE evil lurking.. Then you see symbolic references to HAND ACROSS AMERICA, some biblical references. That’s where things get way too confusing, and the movie falls short. The acting was ok and at points, I felt the evil twin of Lupita Nyongo’s voice was kinda forced. Some scenes felt unnecessary and comedic. If any of you can EXPLAIN the reasoning behind all this, please do share your comments, I would like to get some CLARIFICATION. 2ThumbsUP gives this movie 2/5.

How To Train Your Dragon 3

I’m a sucker for animation, specially when you know it will be GOOD. Drawback, when they make sequels and they aren’t always the best. That being said, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3 was another case.

CUTENESS

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3 – Toothless get’s a GIRL FRIEND OMG and someone get’s MARRIED (spoiler alert!!) This third installment, was SUPER CUTE. This time, Hiccup must find another HOME for his villagers and the dragons. Not that easy, an OLD Night Fury dragon hunter, comes to know about toothless and that’s where trouble begins. He uses the WHITE Night Fury to bait Toothless. The power of LOVE hahah. Find out what happens and join this fun journey. Overall, a good story, cute, romantic, and adventurous for the whole family. 2ThumbsUP gives this 4/5.

 

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY

It’s very rare I watch documentaries or biopics, because they never seem to interest me. But after hearing great things about BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, I decided to watch it to see what the hype is all about. Well, those people were right the biopic on the band QUEEN/Freddie Mercury was great.

QUEEN

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY – Life of Freddie Mercury/Queen, brilliant performance by Rami Malek as Freddie. He brought so much power to the role, strong story, full of drama, and overall a great watch. The movie reveals some key things about his life, which I was never aware of and the amazing music they created. Behind every success, there is always a flaw, and that was the case with this movie. As a band, they reached to the skies, but one decision destroys the band and things start falling apart. If your a fan of QUEEN/MUSIC this is a must watch. 2ThumbsUP gives this movie 4.5/5.
